There has been much discussion in the media and the Bloggernacle about the PBS series The Mormons, both pre-and post broadcast. For easier reference I will attempt to chronicle these discussions, and gather them into one location. If someone knows of Bloggernacle (or other good) posts I have missed, please let me know so that I can add them. If you missed the broadcast you can watch it online here. You can read the full text of the interviews here, and they are well worth the time. You can also purchase the DVD here:

My post titled ‘Fringes Only Please’ at BofJ is based on the broadcast. It has a lot to do with the fall of Ken Clark.

Eric,
Thanks for the update. I’ve added it. Sorry I missed you first time around. The title didn’t jump out at me as I was researching. Nice post.
Thanks again.

My brother has two posts on his blog about it, one pre-broadcast (http://freephilosophicaldiscussions.blogspot.com/2007/04/mormons.html)
and one after the first installment(http://freephilosophicaldiscussions.blogspot.com/2007/05/mormons-episode-1.html) I expect he’ll have another on last night’s episode up soon too.

Thanks for providing this compendium of Bloggernacle chatter about the program. I appreciate it.

This is a great resource. Thanks for your work.
Have you considered adding the link with interview transcripts? (http://www.pbs.org/mormons/interviews/) I found them really interesting and helpful in giving a bit more information to chew on.

Equality, Anything I can do to help you find your way back to the Gospel.
m&m, Great suggestion. I’ve added it. Thanks!

There is one thing I think has been missing everywhere I have gone on the Internet; non-Mormon reactions to the series. Now, I don’t mean pot-shots from “unredeamable anti-Mormon or anti-religionists,” but thoughtful people. After all, this show was supposed to be as much for non-Mormons as about Mormons.
If my lack of finding responses means anything, I don’t think very many non-Mormons actually watched the show. Believe me, I have looked everywhere and found NOTHING (other than very negative blog comments) on this show. Even the PBS and Newsweek responses have been 90 percent Mormon defenders and 10 percent negative detractors. Did the “world” just watch it and shrug its collective shoulders? I would like to know.

OK, one more I didn’t see listed here…Meridian Magazine has had a few articles on it, and is also compiling some comments from readers. I know it’s not a ‘nacle link, but thought I would pass it along anyway if you want to include it. (If I did it right, the links are listed in order, starting with most recent first.)

This is a great link, but you can’t tell by the title that it’s related to the documentary.

I just added my own thoughts on the program, in a round about way. Tried to answer my own #9 question after a lot of hard research.

Jettboy. I have added your link–thanks.
m&m: I am in the process of adding your suggestions as well. Thanks.

I was sadly disappointed at how much members didn’t talk about it. When I went to church the Sunday after the show no one even mentioned it in conversation. Why is that? Before it came out it was in the Ensign and it was announced from many pulpits. Were people were scared to talk openly about the controversy? I think it would be great to have a discussion in church about what was said, but sadly it hasn’t materialized.
