Very interesting. My father passed just a few months after yours, quite suddenly too. What a shock it was; I had hoped to have a few more years. It was an intense moment, during which I came to realize that each moment is a gift to use wisely. Thanks for reinforcing that realization.

Thanks for sharing such intimate thoughts about your dad. I too have been through times of what I call my "Outer Darkness Days." My dad never gave up on me, never swayed from his belief that the Church was true and the gospel plan of happiness was the only true way to live life. He saw me through those dark days and gave me a small perspective on how our Heavenly Father believes in each of His children.

Guy, your dad is a great man. He was always kind to me (back in the day). My dad passed on in 2001. And I think both of our dads shared many of the same attributes.
I had seen your dad a few times in 2005 when he was working at the L.A. temple.
I think the last time I saw you was probably in 1970 before I went on my mission.
I currently live in Covina, California. I have been in the bishopric for the last five years and I teach 8th grade Math and History.
I have been married for the last 24 years. Between my wife and me we have five children, four grandchildren and another on the way.
I coached for over 30 years, the last 10 at the high school level.
I will teach at least 9 more years ( that's when the house is paid for). After that we will see. I'd like to go on a mission with my wife. I will probably teach as long as I continue to enjoy it.
I still run, I will be running my 10th marathon in October. I like to ride bikes and play golf as well.
I came across your web page by just surfing through some lds web pages.
I hope all is well with you, say hi to your family for me. Brad
